Someday I'll look back on these pics and cringe for posting them but also probably be secretly happy because I'll be old and flabby and be happy that I was somewhat cute & stylish on occasion. Vanity, thy name is Katie.
Joey is still the sweetest, most laid back kid ever. Clearly, he can be a little stinker like any kid, but all and all he is pretty amazing the majority of the time.
He easily entertains himself.
Still OBSESSED with trains, trucks and cars.
Enjoys watching movies. Becomes obsessed with one and will watch it over and over until finally he decides to mix it up. A few faves are Cars(1 &2), Planes Fire and Rescue, Toy Story, Finding Nemo and during Christmas time I think we watched the Polar Express for the entire month of December.
Also enjoys Thomas the Train, Daniel Tiger, and Dinosaur Train.
Loves to be chased around the house.
Hates getting his diaper changed.
Loves Teddy, as long as he isn't playing with ANY toy in the house.
Is Teddy's biggest cheerleader.
Very proudly introduces Teddy to EVERYONE!
Has always been my picky eater but is SLOWLY getting better. Excitedly asks for apples and bananas now, so I'll take it.
Yogurt is still a go to fave.
waffles, pretzels, cheerios & milk, and cheese-its are all tried and true.
And he does not turn his nose up to a Hersey bar, or a cookie.
He's talking up a blue streak.
Some funny phrases:
When he wants me to look at something, "Check it out, mummy!"
When I make a suggestion of something he should do, "Good idea, Mummy."
When I actually wear real clothes, "You look pretty mummy." swoon!
When I ask him to do something he doesn't want to do," No hanks mummy." He is nothing if not polite.
"Rahh I'm a monster!" Loves to be scary.
Covers eyes with hands or hides under blankets and shouts, "Where's Joey?!" He's so bright that one;)
When waiting for his waffle to toast, "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 POP!"
When Teddy wakes from a nap, "Hi Teddy did you have a good sleep?"
And perhaps my fave? And most heart melting. "I wuv you mummy." On repeat, and occasionally without prompting:)
Trying to be more conscious of saying my prayers daily as well as praying the Rosary daily. I just recently started this and want to continue doing so. I love incorporating it into my day. Sometimes while I am cleaning the house. Or on my runs. Or in the car. Be more present with the boys. Try to teach Joey something new every week. Get down on the floor and play with them. Be silly and fun.
Read 2 books a month.
I need to start reading avidly again and not be on my phone as often! Also read more to the boys! Right now I read while they take a bath because it's the only place they can't escape. But I want to start making more reading routines.
Less time on social media.
I need to be more present in the actual world as opposed to the digital! It can be so addicting, but really SO unimportant!

Note: Exercise is not on this list. Not because I'm not doing it, but because I already do anyways. And thankfully not at the gym! How annoying is the month of January at the gym? Am I right?? I work out right at home. I have to squeeze in at least 20 minutes a day to stay sane! And can I just say--I find my quick 20 minute workouts to be way more effective to the hour i use to spend at the gym pre kids.
In general, I just want to make sure to find the positives in my day, have a grateful heart and stay healthy and happy!
It's no secret that I LOVE my birthday! This year I turned the big 3-0. It just so happened that I was also a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding on my bday! So between New Year's Eve, rehearsal dinner, birthday, wedding plus both boys having nasty colds last week it was an eventful weekend!
We started the year off with a dinner date:) At the rehearsal dinner;) It was delish and so nice to enjoy a meal sans kids. However, Teddy missed me and was having a hard time getting to sleep so we called it an early night. My inner old lady didn't mind a bit.
Friday morning my birthday started off fabulous with coffee in bed from these two!! My two fave gifts of all:)
My mom spoiled me with this snazzy Kate Spade bag! And matching wallet!
Then it was off for wedding festivities! Being in the wedding makes it a little trickier to get pics but I did manage to snag a few!

On Sunday I made Andrew give me a bday redo since I was so busy with the wedding on my actual birthday.
We went to lunch at the Salt Water Grille! It was amazing!
We started with haddock chowder and then I got this amazing turkey sandwich! Also side note: best cole slaw I've ever had!
We split the Katie's Apple Pie. Clearly with a name like that we had to!
I thoroughly enjoyed the company of this guy. It was such a nice day:)
