12 in 2014!

The year is coming to an end and what a year it has been. As always time is a sneaky little thing. I started remincsing over our year through all the bazillion pics I took. Also realized how my palpicoftheday went by the way side in September. Oh well. I still captured lots of moments in our year. However, rather than recap them all--would take me a sweet forever--I'm choosing one pic for each month of 2014.

Our love affair with trains began. And hasn't stopped :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our toddler class every Monday! It was a fun way to get out of the house in the long winter! And it gave me some nice quality time with this kiddo!

We celebrated Joey's 2nd Birthday with a baseball bash!

This happened! Probably the best part of the whole year!

Teddy was baptized!

So began the summer of playground hopping!

Joey was a ring bearer in his very first wedding!

We ended the summer with our a week at Ocean Park! It was the best.

It was a beautiful September and we did lots of this!

This little pumpkin really started getting a personality--as evidenced by that sly little smile;)

Thankful to be brothers!

What better way to celebrate my favorite time of the year than with these boys! Love<3

We had an absolutely amazing year and I can't wait to see what 2015 brings us!

Cheers to a new year!

Christmas 2014

Hello there! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day and are continuing to enjoy the Christmas season. I still can't even believe it's December let alone that Christmas Day has come and gone! This Friday is my 30th birthday! Eek! Time just never stops does it?!

Here's a little recap if our week:

We started Christmas week with our church's Breakfast with St. Nick. It was super cute and I got this adorbs pic of the boys with Santa! No tears here, thank  goodness.

Joey thought he'd tickle the ivories a bit until he got in trouble. Apparently kids aren't suppose to touch the piano. Oops!

I did some baking!

We started a new Christmas Eve morning tradition. Breakfast at Cookie Jar! Love traditions:)

And I of course was my festive self ;)

And so were these two cuties.

Pre Christmas Eve mass pic: take one!

Take two:)

After mass we headed to my parents' house for dinner. How cute are the grandparents?!

Annual fam bam all dressed up Christmas pic!

Christmas morning! Opening stockings in mom & dad's room before heading downstairs. This was my fam's tradition growing up, so I'm carry it over to mine:)

Santa was good to us...

Both our fams come over for breakfast and presents and the boys were spoiled even more!

And then I donned some of my new Christmas stuff!!:)

It was a great day! We are leaving all our Christmas stuff up and continuing to celebrate until the Epiphany! We did, however, have to take down our tree:( he was a little droopy and sad.

Happy Monday and fifth day of Christmas!!

The disappearing baby

Much like me from this blog, my baby has disappeared! The Tedster is 8 months and is desperately trying to keep up with his older brother. Yup, he is standing people. Pulling himself right up to play with his little music table. Pulling himself up to play with the train table. Pulling himself up to the couch. With the occasional stutter step. Oh yah, he is also standing in the crib! We lowered the mattress and thankfully put the kabosh on that. He is on the move. He is army crawling like a bandit. He is quick that one!

This one loves to eat. He has yet to turn down food. Fruits, veggies, yogurt, banana/pumpkin teething biscuits--he wolfs it all right down!

I'm not sure how much he weighs at this point but he is wearing 12 month clothes and size 4 and 5 diapers! Depending on the brand.

I just started working on sleep training last night to get rid of that one wake up. This is a hot topic issue I know but it works for us and Teddy responded pretty well and this morning woke up still loving me:)

Still puts everything in his mouth but is starting to play with toys now too.

He still is such a happy baby:) Everyone always asks me if he is always so happy? For the most part--yes he is!

He has already had his second buzz cut!

He is starting to get roughed up a bit by his older bro so I think he is going to be one tough cookie!

We love him to pieces!

What Teddy reminded me about Advent

Sunday was the first day of Advent. First of all, I can't believe it's already Advent! I swear we were just at the beach.
As a kid I always loved Advent. I loved the lead up to Christmas. I loved lighting the candle each week at Mass. And I loved the week that we lit the pink candle because it meant Christmas was almost here! I absolutely LOVE Christmas. It really is my favorite time of the year. I love Christmas so much that I sometimes forget to focus on Advent. So this year I am making an honest effort to recognize the importance of Advent. I am reading daily Advent devotions, I am using my Blessed Is She Advent journal(which I am LOVING!) and I have deleted Facebook off my phone in an effort to be more present. I'd like to say that I deleted Instagram, but I do have my limits. I am also not eating unnessary desserts. I eat dessert every night. I LOVE dessert. (I am very suspect of people who don't like sweets.)But during Advent, I am saving my dessert eating for festive events only.

Advent is a time of waiting. Hopeful waiting. It's a time to prepare. It's a time to be vigilant. On Sunday night Teddy decided to teach me the meaning of that. He had the worst night sleep of his little baby life. He woke up howling every two hours or so. It's nothing completely horrible that I need to be complaining about, as he did go right back to sleep but it was also not my favorite thing.

I feel like I could easily have been annoyed each time he woke me up from my precious beauty sleep. Lord knows I need it! But in all honesty--his sweet face? It's hard to be annoyed! I think it was Teddy's way of telling me--Be alert, be watchful and prepare your heart this Advent season for Christmas. He's very perceptive and holy that little Tedster:)

25 books of Christmas

I love books.  And I love Christmas.  So when I saw this fabulous idea on Pinterest that incorporated both of my favorite things, I was all over it!!  I blogged about this tradition we started last year and I can't wait to do it again this year!
You take 25 Christmas books and wrap them up for your
child(ren).  Each day of December they get to choose one to open and read that night! It really is so  much fun! You don't need to get 25 books every year.  You can just put away the books each year, then in December take them out, wrap them up and they are a novelty once again!  Every year I have been adding Christmas books to our collection.  I am just about up 25 books. I am going to try to add one new book each year. Tonight Joey and Teddy will open their first book of the season and I am very excited!
I will try to do a weekly review of the books we open! But don't hold me too it:)
Happy December!
