June Pinspired

Today is a fabulous day.
It's Friday for one!
And it's also time to get Pinspired.
I love this day.
Linking up with Shay, Sheaffer and Mel

Here's the thing:
I had high hopes for June Pinspired. I really did.
But as I type this it's 46. Yes, that's right 46. June is in two day and it's in the 40s. The temperatures around these parts have been dismal. It's hit 70 a couple times but 50s seem to be where it's at.
So my hope for cute summery outfit creations have been dashed.

And so this is how was was Pinspired.

Look #1:

I really like the yellow with the striped scarf! It seemed perfect for a chilly spring day.
And due to the above mentioned temps I went with a light sweater and flats to create this look.

Look #2:

Ok I love love love this look. So simple. So casual. So perfect. And you know what else?? I love the pic. I tried to recreate it myself but gosh darn it is it hard to take a pic from that angle! This is the best I could do!

Pretty spot on if I do say so myself;)

Look #3:

This look is not from Pinterest but I saw it and NEEDED to recreate it!

I mean how adorbs??
I am just a little obsessed with Candace Cameron Bure and she posted this pic on her Instagram which I may or may not lurk;) So I guess you could say this is an Instaration?? I mean she is just too cute for words!
My sisters always tell me that Candace reminds them of me--God bless sisters right?!
And I was beyond thrilled she was on DWTS--and made it to the Finals!

Well there you have it. Here's hoping next month brings warm, bright tanks and shorts and sandals! A gal can dream:)

I feel like I'm finally getting back into the swing of the old bloggity blog since the arrival of Teddy.

Thoughts on two

I am standing in my kitchen sipping coffee and trying savor the minute of peace. Joey is watching a Thomas the Train movie while Teddy sleeps in his car seat on the kitchen table. This is my life. It's not even 9:30 and I have eaten breakfast, fed the boys(all 3 of them!), made the hubs's lunch, got dressed, thrown in a load of laundry, folded a load of laundry and gone for a 3 mile walk. That last thing? Yah that's the only way I can get the little guy to nap.
Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love this mom gig something fierce.
But I am struck just how different it is with two. I am officially one of those moms. The ones that look at other moms with one kid knowingly-- understanding now just how much easier I had it! Don't get me wrong--one kid is no walk in the park. But the difference with two makes me appreciate that time with one. Because that is the key difference. Time. I seemed to have a bit more time in my day with one. Time that I always appreciated but never fully appreciated?? Nap time was a mom's happy hour(without the alcohol). Oh the things I could do while my only kid napped. Now--life is a whole lot different.
Now I have to make sure I feed two instead of one, I need four arms instead of two, I need to make sure both get a nap(s) and the likelihood of that happening simultaneously? It's about as likely as my husband betting on the trifecta at the Kentucky Derby(which didn't happen)
Two comes with twice the caution, twice the worry, twice the stamina.
But you know what else? It comes with twice the smiles, twice the laughs, twice the cuddles, twice the smelly baby goodness and the kicker?? Twice the love.  Oh my! The amount of love you have in your heart for your child is nothing compared to the love you have for your children. Joey will have a special spot in my heart because he made me a mother. But you know what? Teddy made me even more of a mom he made me a super mom. Because special powers you didn't know you had begin to manifest with the addition of another! And the combo of my two kids, my two sweet boys? Well life with two is just twice as good:) The best!
I can't begin to imagine what 3 will look like! But we shall cross that bridge when we get to it:)

Recipe Club

Hello there, my friends.
Today I am linking up with the fabulous Andrea for her Wednesday Recipe Club.
It is very exclusive I tell you.
Only the finest culinary wonders.
I kid.  Obviously. Or else I would not be joining:)

Dinner time has become awfully challenging in this house since the arrival of Teddy! Mostly because at dinner time the tedster does not want to be put down. As you can imagine cooking can be a little difficult. That's where my crock pot comes in. Does anyone love love love their crock pot as much as I do? God bless that sweet little kitchen gadget. A life saver I tell you! If a meal can be cooked in my crockpot I am making it! Easy peasy!
And now that the weather is getting warmer you know what's great about the crock?? No turning on the stove! Hallelujah!

I tried a new recipe in the crock pot last week that I'm going to share.
You know what I loathe? Boiling noodles. It's is the step in a pasta dish I wish I could skip! Well my trusty crock pot allowed me to do just that!!

Here is a pasta bake recipe that I love--you just dump all ingredients in and you are good to go!! Sooo easy! The most work you'll do is using the can opener!

Ingredients:

1 lb. Ziti or Rigatoni pasta, uncooked (Yes, that's right!  You don't have to pre-cook the pasta! Oh happy day!)
1 28oz. can Crushed tomatoes1 15oz. can Tomato Sauce
1 1/2 tsp. Italian Seasoning1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. oregano1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Optional: Ground beef or sausage
But this would require a step that mama just wasn't feeling:)
I might add a package of frozen spinach drained next time though! To sneak in a veggie!

Directions:
Spray crock with cooking
spray.

In a bowl, mix together all ingredients reserving 1 cup of your cheese. Dump in crock pot and top with reserved cheese.
Cook on LOW for 4 hours or on HIGH for 2 hours.

How easy?!?

This is a busy mom's dream dish. And bonus? It's de-lish!

Happy hump day, bloggies:)

#palpicoftheday2014 Week 21

Hello friends!
This is a very rare moment when both boys are asleep, my house is clean, I'm all caught up on laundry and I even snuck in a quick workout! I am able to blog this post at my computer in peace and quiet.
I am sipping on a cup of tea because it is one of those gloomy days that requires some soul warming tea.  I feel like I can't complain because yesterday was beautiful. And hot.  Very hot!  I was sweltering. But I will  not complain about that either.  It's high time we got some steamy days.
I hope you all had a marvelous Memorial Day weekend.  I am sad it is over.  I love a three day weekend.  It is nice having the hubs home for an extra day.  It allowed me to get all the cleaning I neglected during the week done!  We also enjoyed the weather and lots of family time:)  We took Joey to his first parade yesterday and he loved it!  And now we are starting another week!  Isn't it grand to start a week on a Tuesday? Grand I tell you!

Here is last week in review!

Day 139:
They are going to best buds I can already tell!

Day 140:

Spring is here! Can I get  a woot woot??

Day 141:

Snug as a bug in a rug! My mom always use to say that to us:)

Day 142:

The last time I sat in this waiting room, Teddy was a baby bump! I am so happy he is here:)

Day 143:

Cranky baby(not shown) 101: Car rides! Mamas--can I get an Amen?

Day 144:

Joey was helping daddy-o put together his swing set!  He took about 8 hours to put together! God bless that hubs of mine!

Day 145:

The finished product! Hallelujah!

Have a fab week loyal readers:)

Favorite Things Party- Memorial Day Edish

First and foremost I'd like to thank all the men & women who gave their life fighting for our country and for the families of these heroes.

Memorial Day is all about honoring these great people and keeping them and their families in our prayers!

But let's be honest. It's also about bbqs and family time too.

So today's Favorite Things Party party is all about BBQ essentials under $10!

First up: Sunnies
I don't know about you but I lose/break/scratch sunglasses like it's my job! Having little kids I'm always tossing them in my baby bag or the car or leaving them somewhere and my mommy brain makes me forget where! So I refuse to pay big bucks for sunglasses I can't seem to keep intact! So I head to Walmart and grab a couple pairs off the $5 rack. And truthfully? They aren't awful. I just bought my self a new pair that I can slide on top of my head without those little nose pieces ripping my hair--you know what I'm talking about ladies!

Not too shabby for $5!  The tedster is not impressed;)

Next up: Flippies
Patriotic flip flops are a must and these are adorbs from Old Navy. And bonus? You can rock them on the 4th as well! Plus the anchor ones can be worn all summer! Love me some nautical style.

Finally:
What's a BBQ without a super cute graphic tee?? Old Navy has some really fabo graphic tees. Not all are patriotic and some are slightly more than $10 but they are just too cute to pass up! Here's a peek at a few!

Linking up with Andrea and Erika!

Have a patriotic day!

Friday Favorite

Happy Friday friends!! Not only is the weekend upon but a three day weekend at that!! Woop woop! I am thrilled! I love three day weekends:)

I am sharing the favorite part of my day with you for Friday Favorites today!

It's really quite simple and not overly exciting but my favorite part of the day is between 6:00-8:00 in the morning. I love that quiet  time in the morning when we all wake up and are cuddling watching tv and I am drinking a cup of coffee. There is really nothing better!  It is the only time of day that doesn't feel rushed to me. We can just enjoy each other and the start of a new day! It's absolutely perfection.

What's your favorite part of the day??

Throwback Thursday

This picture is exactly a year ago! I think it is the epitome of the statement, "what a difference a year makes!"
Joey was 14 months and had only been walking for a couple months at this point so he was still figuring out the big bad outside world! I wasn't even pregnant with Teddy yet! Our world at this point was so different. Little did I know how easy I had it at the time! I can't believe how far we have come in just a year. Isn't life a beautiful thing:)

Monday Must-haves: Newborn Necessities

Happy Monday friends!! I haven't done a Friday Favorites post in a while and had every intention of posting this on Friday but time just slipped away from me!!  I thought since I am totally in baby mode I'd share my favorite newborn necessities and make today Must Have Monday:)

The Fisher Price Rock & Play is my absolutely favorite thing!! I can not rave enough about this product!! I had it with Joey and I swear it made him a great sleeper!! Joey had some reflux so I liked how he was at an incline. So far so good with Teddy too! He's an awesome nighttime sleeper! The rock & play is so cozy and cocoons them so snugly. It's the best! I swear!

I call these night shirts because gowns sounds kinda girlie! These are perfect for pjs because they make middle of the night diaper changes a breeze! Perfect for spring weather too!

And I'm kinda a sucker for baby boy in a night shirt :)

My boppy is a must have!! Not only is it super helpful for nursing, but it's so versatile. Baby can use it for tummy time and to help support them when they they learning to sit up. I also use it for myself! It's super comfy.

Finally I couldn't live without a stroller! It was an unseasonably warm and beautiful spring the year I had Joey and we walked all over the city! There aren't too many things you can do outside with a newborn so going for nice long walks was my go-to! It didn't hurt with losing the baby weight either;) This time around is no different! I try to get in a walk with both boys every day. I have a double stroller and let me tell you--pushing two babes instead of just one total kicks up the intensity of the walk. I love it! The boys love it!  Joey likes to find trucks,
dogs, squirrels and birds and trees and airplanes on our walks. Teddy just loves to be on the move! He conks right out usually. I foresee lots if walks around the neighborhood and to the playground this summer and I am pumped.

I love sweet Teddy and he is a really good baby but Joey was so much easier! I was beyond spoiled with that one. He was the exception to so many things. So I shall see if there are some other necessities that I will discover with baby # 2 as I continue on this journey through motherhood!

What are some of your favorite things?!

#palpicoftheday2014 & What I Wore

This is gonna be short and sweet! It's was a rough Monday over at the Pals! Joey had to get his first X-Ray.  He hurt his foot in gym class and had a little limp. We got the results and he is fine! Then yesterday was so busy I didn't get a chance to sit down at the computer to finish this post.  It doesn't help that from about 5:30 until bedtime Teddy doesn't not like to be put down!  I think it may be time to invest in the Mamaroo.  Four new mamas that I follow have been posting about its magic powers!  Teddy likes to be on the move!

Here is last week in pics:

Day 125:

My matchy match baseball boys:)

126:
My kitchen helper.  See? Doesn't like to be put down.  It does make for some tricky cooking techniques;)

Day 127:

Sweet Teddy is one month! Holy moly

Day 128:

This is what a little fresh air does to a boy:)

Day 129:
 The many faces of Tedward:)

Day 130:

Road trip with the sisters! Annie did my sister-in-law's hair for prom so we headed to NH.  Let's just say we had lots of laughs and jam sessions on our trip:) Love my sisters!

Day 131:
Mother's Day!  The two sweet boys who made me a mom! So blessed:)

Today is also Wednesday and I have done a What I Wore Post in awhile, so here are some of my post recent looks!

Have a Happy Hump Day friends!
