Get Pin-spired: February!

Happy Friday lovies!

I seriously have no idea where the month of January went?! Time is whizzing by! Spring will be here before we know it and we can all stop complaining about the cold:)

I'm so excited to be linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers once again for Get Pin-spired!!

You MUST check out Shay's, Sheaffer's and Mel's looks, they are fabulous, as always!  Girls know their fashion!

Monday was the start of my 3rd trimester so I am taking full advantage of dressing cute these days because I have no idea how much longer I will actually be looking cute:)

Pinspiration #1:

Really really loved this look! Simple yet classic!

Here's my look:
I love any excuse to wear these black booties;)  Chasing around a toddler while pregnant doesn't provide many opportunities I tell ya!

Pinspiration #2:
I happen to have almost this exact cardi so I simply had to go with this look!  Not to mention the fact that is SUPER comfy and absolutely adorbs!

My look:
LOVE the elbow patches!

Pinspiration #3:
Obsessed with this look! Totally smitten!

My look:
I layered two necklaces to achieve a somewhat similar look!
You can only see one, but I am also wearing my Swarovski Bella earrings that I am kind of obsessed with! I wear the heck out of these things! My mum got them for me last Christmas and I think I have worn them almost everyday since!

Ok Joey wanted in on the action today!
I found this adorable print on Pinterest:
Very appropriate to kick off February!  And it just so happened Joey wore a similar look to church last week:)

Here's the little prince's look:)
Who wouldn't want to be this sweet boy's Valentine?!

I had a really hard time getting my pictures to upload properly!  I apologize if they are small or blurry!   I am totally not tech savvy so until I can find someone to help me out, this will have to do! THanks for bearing with me!

Cheers to a happy weekend!!:)

25 Things You Didn't know About Me

I know I know I'm not a Hollywood star and this blog is definitely not US Weekly, but I am obsessed with the 25 Things You Didn't  Know column so I decided to bring it to the old bloggity blog today. Usually I link up to What I Wore Wednesday, but this Friday is Get Pinspired so I am holding out my fashion pics until then!

So here we go...

1. Most people do know this about me, but I feel like it is one of my most distinguishing qualities--being the oldest of seven! I honestly feel like it has truly shaped my life in such a wonderful way!

2. I am addicted to cereal. I have to have a bowl of cereal every day. Usually it's for breakfast but if for some reason I have something else I have to eat a bowl of cereal at some other point in my day! I just have to! Yum!

3. I am horrible at sealing anything with a ziplock. Don't ask me why, I'm just horrible! I literally cannot get it to line up correctly!

4. I drink at least half my weight in ounces of water every day. I will NOT tell you how many ounces that equals;)

5. I still eat pb&j sandwiches almost daily.

6. I have to have a glass of milk with my dinner, no matter what the meal. Andrew thinks I'm weird drinking milk with pizza.

7. I can't see without glasses or contacts. You may think I'm exaggerating but I am as blind as a bat! My glasses prescription is -.6

8. I have had no cravings during either pregnancy.

9. I sleep with 3 pillows every night--4 when I'm pregnant.

10. Besides when sleeping, I have earrings in my ears at all times. No exceptions. I roll out of y and put on my glasses and my earrings.

11. I have an obsession with taking showers. I sometimes shower twice a day and it has to be scalding hot.

12. I can't walk around the house barefoot. I have to have slippers or flip flops on at all times. I just hate the feeling of bare feet.

13. I do some sort of exercise 5-6 times a week.

14. I drink grape juice because I read somewhere that it helps prevent the stomach bug. There is no one that hates throwing up more than me! I am extremely pro active in prevention!

15. I rip out my eyebrows. Yup, weird. Some people bite their nails--I rip out my eyebrows.

16. I love coffee! But I didn't become a coffee drinker until my second year of teaching! Before that I was strictly tea only!

17. I am a morning person. Obviously now more than ever being a mom. But I hate sleeping in! I feel like I'm wasting away the day!

18. I have an apple everyday. And I fully believe in the saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away! I rarely get sick! Plus I just love a crunchy apple!

19. I love the early morning smell of grass in the spring and summer.

20. I love the ampersand symbol!! &&&:)

21. I've never met a bagel or a slice of pizza I haven't liked! Can you tell my life revolves around food;)

22. My sisters come over every week for sister night! They are my best friends:)

23. I started working at Maxwells Pottery the summer of my junior year of college! It has been an amazing part time job the past 8 years! Awesome bosses, great hours and so much flexibility! I feel so thankful this opportunity came my way all those gets ago! Plus I love meeting interesting, friendly people! I have talked to people all over the country and even people from other countries! It's so fun! And no I do not make any of the pottery! We only sell! I do not have an artistic bone in my body! Just ask my high school art teacher who hated everything I ever did:( I'm not bitter or anything....

24. My two favorite weeks of the whole year are Christmas week and the week my parents rent a beach house at Ocean Park!

25. I'm so thankful for my friends, but if I didn't have any it it would be ok because I have the best family in the world! I'm not kidding!!

I apologize if my posts have been a bit choppy. I have been posting them via my phone for the past week because the batteries of our keyboard and mouse need to be replaced! I keep badgering the hubby to get on this because I am technology challenged and just can't seem to figure out the keyboard! So hopefully this will happen sometime in the next century! But if we know husbands...I shouldn't hold my breathe:)

#palpicoftheday2014 Week 4

Can't believe we just finished up the 4th week of the year!! Crazy! Here's what we were up to!

Day 20:
Joey grabbed my keys, headed for the door and said, bye bye Mum Mum! He had enough:)

Day 21:

Brr it was cold and we had colds so it was a tea and soap opera kinda afternoon while Joey napped! Thank goodness this cold didn't affect sleep!

Day 22:
Chicken soup kinda day!

Day 23:
The hubby celebrated his 27th birthday! We went to dinner at a yummy New BBQ place to celebrate!

Day 24:
Cake for breakfast! It was strawberry so I justified this as healthy;)

Day 25:
I totally forgot to capture a moment on Saturday!! Ahh! Had to steal this from Andrew!! Woodsy got a new ride! Joey loves it! He loves taking this car/shopping cart for a spin around the house!

Day 26:
He looks so sweet and innocent, but he has lots of sneaky tricks up his sleeve!

Have a great week!

Friday Favorites: Stay at home Mom Edition

Another week another Friday! I feel like I blink and the week is over! Today I wanted to share my favorite things about being a stay at home mom. I feel like I have the best job in the world.
My mom stayed at home with my siblings and me and looking back I'm so happy she did! I think that's a no reason why I wanted to stay home too! I realized how important that time was to me and I wanted to give that to my kids too!
When I wasn't teaching a classroom full of invisible students when I was younger I was playing "mothers" with my two best friends/cousins! We took it very seriously. We named our children, picked out futuriture for our house in the JCPennys catalog and each had a specific area in our family houses where we "lived".  When we would start acting like our normal selves again we would snap back into our imaginary world with a quick 1,2,3 Mothers! This was our signal that we were no longer Molly, Caitlan and Katie the young girls, but rather we were officially in mother mode and we were very serious about it! I can still clearly remeber sitting in the backseat of my own mum's fan and pretend that I was driving around my invisible kids! I'd pretend to tuck my kids in at night-- for some reason they slept in one of our bathtubs in our house;) So as you can see I wasn't one of those girls that dreamed of being a doctor, lawyer, first woman president but rather I dreamed of being a mom:) And in my opinion that is the best job in the world!  I feel very fortunate that I get to stay at home with Joey and my future children. I know not every mom has this opportunity available to them. It's not easy and we make lots of sacrifices, but it it totally worth it to us!  I also understand that there are some mothers who want to be working moms and that is ok too!
For me, I feel like being a mom is my purpose. And you know what?  I think I'm pretty good at! Am I perfect? Although I like to think so, I know I am not! Are any of us?? Of course not! But I think moms do what we think is best for our kids and that's all we can be asked to do!

So here are my Friday Favoeites of being a stay at home mom!

Favorite 1: Joey
I think this speaks for itself! My favorite thing about staying at home is getting to hang out with the little prince
all day!! He cracks me up! He always makes me
laugh and we have a blast! Are there times when I wanna pull my hair out in frustration? Of course! But those times are so few and far between! I love being able to hang out with this kid all day!

Favorite #2: Adventures
One of my favorite things is being able to go and do fun things with Joey! We like to get out and stay active. My days consist of walks, playing outside, play dates, open gyms, story time, we are up for anything!  And after all these fun things...I might enjoy nap time too:)

Favorite #3: Getting in touch with my inner Martha Stewart

Since becoming a stay at home mom, I have really stepped up my game in the kitchen. I get more opportunities to bake and get dinner ready! I've become quite the baker! Although I am still working on my cooking skills--they have come a long  too!!

I posted this picture on Instagram the other day!
It's the simple things in my days that I love the most:)

Today we are having a low key day because we are both getting over colds--but I think Fridays calls for a Mr. Bagel lunch date!

Have a splendid weekend lovies!

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Today is Andrew's 27th birthday! What a young stud he is! I always joke that I am a cougar because he is 2 years and 21 days younger than me! I have known this guy for 7 years and he has become my best friend, husband and father of my children! He is so sweet, super handy, makes me laugh every day, an awesome dad to Joey, and a hard worker who provides for his family! He is quite accomplished in his 27 years! Here's hoping to another great year ahead!!

WIWW-Monogram Edition

Well here it is --What I Wore Wednesday--and I once again did not take any pictures of myself dressed in normal clothes. I did, however, snap a picture of me rocking my new sweater today and that will have to do!

I was at Old Navy returning something when this absolutely adorable mongramed sweater caught my eye. And who doesn't love a good monogram, they're making a comeback don't cha know? Of course they had no K's but they did have a J and that was enough incentive for me! I mean my son's name begins with J so really there was no excuse to not scoop this little purchase right up! Because when they don't have your initial than you get your kid's...am I right moms??;)

My jeans are Motherhood and I love them! They aren't the kind that go up over your belly but rather have a stretchy waistband that sits right under the bump which  can be tricky at times, but I love that they are skinnies and I can wear them with boots so I suffer through some
mild discomfort because I have a weird issue with how things sit on my waist --but really--beauty is pain ladies, we all know that!

I get so many comps on my boots when I am out and about and to be honest I got them about 2 years ago at Target for a whopping $25!! A steal, right? And I'm totally good with that. They get the job done and people obviously think they are cute so what more could a gal ask for??

Happy hump day!

If you liked Beautiful Disaster or contemporary romance in general....

When it comes to the following companion novels, I was utterly and hopelessly in love with them!  Yes I am a sucker for romance.  Yes, I have a tendency to be a sucker for corny.  Yes, I am a sucker for a book that could totally be made into a lifetime movie. These books are all of that rolled into one.  The story drew me in and I couldn't get enough!  Please don't be turned off by the corny covers!

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

In the follow-up to Colleen Hoover’s #1 New York Times bestseller Hopeless, the charming and irresistible Dean Holder tells the passionate story that has melted thousands of hearts.
In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery.
Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him…
Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.

I am really loving reading a story from the point of view of the guy.  I love learning their take and their feelings on the plot and romance of the book. This is an easy read, and if you love a good love story where the bad boy with the heart of gold is madly in love with the girl than you will be smitten with these novels!

#palpicpftheday2014:Week 3

Here's week 3 of my daily pictures!  It has been fun capturing a great moment from each day:)

Day 13:
It was a relatively mild week and we enjoyed lots of outside time!

Day 14:

My brother Patrick turned 14! Joey and I stopped at his school during lunch and brought him a treat!  Joey loves Uncle Patchy:)

Day 15:

We went for a 4 mile walk at Bug Light and then Joey ran around for a good 45 minutes!  To say we were exhausted that afternoon is an understatement!  It was great to get some fresh air!

Day 16:

The day this mama accidentally threw Joey's monitor in with a load of laundry!  What a stressful afternoon! I blame pregnancy brain!  Sometimes I just have so much to do I get a little overwhelmed!  Luckily my handy husband was able to fix it!

Day 17:

Joey and I are off to open gym!

Day 18:

Joey had his first fever on Satuday and a little bit of a runny nose!  I think we did pretty good for making it 22 months without a fever!  Even though he was a little under the weather he was still my sweet boy.  I am so spoiled with this kid I tell you!  Look at that face:)

Day 19:

Game time! Even this cute little fan couldn't help the Pats though:(

Have a wonderful week lovies!

Friday Favorites

Another week has come and gone! I don't know about all of you but I am so happy it's Friday!! I thought today for my Friday Favorites, I'd share some of my favorite Tips&Tricks!

#1: The power of the baby wipe

Not too long ago I was using a permanent marker to make a craft and Joey wanted it. I let him hold one thinking he couldn't possibly get the cover off. I was wrong. He managed to write on his face, neck and arm. I threw him in the bathtub with not much luck. I decided to try a baby wipe and low and behold it came right off!! So if you ever find yourself I similar situation--I totally recommend this trick!
Side note: I also use baby wipes to her makeup of the collars of my shirts!

#2: An all natural makeup remover

I read somewhere that olive oil is an all natural way to take off your makeup, so I've been trying it. I have to say it works great and leaves your skin soft and smooth and acts as moisturizer!

#3: Vinegar

Can I just tell you that vinegar is my go to cure all!! It literally is a miracle liquid! I use it to clean my coffee maker, unclog the drain and dry out zits! There is so much more you can use it for! You definitely need to keep a bottle of this bad boy in your pantry!

#4: Drinking more water

I drink a ton of water! But I have to tell you, it's so much harder to drink water in the winter. When I am cold the last thing I want to do is drink water!! So I have been trying a new little trick to get myself to drink more! I am probably the thirstiest right when I wake up in the morning, so I keep a small 8oz glass next to the sink in the kitchen so right when I wake up I drink two quick cups before I even have coffee or breakfast. That way I have already drank 16 oz and it starts my day off right!

What Tips&Tricks do you have for me?! Do share!

Have a fabulous weekend:)

Favorite Things Party!

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for their Favorite Things Party!

You need to pop over and check out Erika's and Andrea's blogs! They have such fun posts and they have the most adorable families!

They are also doing a fun Instagram challenge this month that I have been doing as well because let's face it I'm nothing if not a picture poster! This was right up my alley!

Be sure to check out all the fun pics:)

So today the little prince and I took a trip to Marshall's to return some pjs he got that didn't fit. I let him pick out something just to see what he would choose. He chose this Cookie Monster piano. And he is loving it! He was so adorable. And guess what?!  It was only $10! I had to include it in my favorite things today--since it will be Joey's new favorite thing for the day:)

I also spied this leggings!

Let's face it when you are rocking a baby bump, comfort is key! When I saw these leggings and realized how thick and cozy they were I had to have them.  They are perfect for winter, super comfy, and will be perfect with a long sweater or sweatshirt!  How could I resist?? Bonus--they were $6.99! Gosh I love Marshall's!

In the checkout line, these tortilla chips caught my eye.
Let's just say my pregnant self didn't want these chips--she needed these chips! I may or may not have eaten the whole bag on the ride home! Delish, I tell you!

So there you have it folks!  A simple trip to the store can yield lots of new favorite things:)

Pop back tomorrow for my Friday Favorites!

Hump Day!

So today is usually What I Wore Wednesday, but since I have no pics of what I wore it would be a little pointless, right? Also last night was the first time I watched my hair since Friday morning so any pics I had would have showed me with a snazzy bandanna hiding my hair! I must say though my hair was looking real good after I washed it last night. I hate washing my hair every day for two reasons. 1. I'm laZy and my hair does not air dry well especially in the winter so I have to blow dry it and let's be honest ain't nobody got time for that everyday. 2. It's actually not good to wash your hair every day because it strips it of it's natural nutrients, so there's that. But this is all really neither here nor there. Since I have no vain pics of myself today,  I have something even better--pics of the little prince!

Play date with our friend Will last week! Joey mowed down some pirates booty like it was his job!

They had this sweet Thomas the Train roller coaster that Joey loved. I thought it was so cute until about the tenth time of having to push him back up to the top. Hello Joey pregnant mama here!

Joey in his new track suit getting ready for Uncle Patchy's game and munching on some waffles.

Playing in the tub sans water! Who knew it would be so fun?!

Grocery shopping in style!

Loving bagels and cream cheese as much as his mama:)

My mom signed us up for a toddler class at the rec center. This week was the first class! Joey loved it! And I love having something to get us out of the house in the winter!

Here's Joey waving bye to an airplane that flew by. Because of our close proximity to the airport lots of planes fly by! Joey loves them! He calls them aplane!

Swimming lessons in the bath tub! Love his little bum bum! I hate posting bath tub pics because I just think it's weird. But since he wasn't really exposed and it was so freakin cute I made an exception!!

Here's Joey this morning relaxing on the coffee table! We are off to walk Bug Light this morning! We love getting fresh air!

Happy hump day!
