Teddy is one + one month

Teddy turned one a whole month ago.  Yet, here we are, JUST posting an update. C'est la second child vie.

First off, can I just say that I CANNOT believe it has been over a year.  I think I may be the first person to ever say that right?? HA.  Time is moving oh so fast.

Teddy is our little troublemaker.  If mischief is to be had, Teddy is having it:)

He loves to climb stairs, up onto to the couch, or Joey's bed and scare me half to death.

He's a major grabber, so you have to be careful about what you have around him. Ripped my fave necklace right off me! My fault clearly! Should have known better!

He still puts everything in his mouth.  In fact, he even put a live bug in there the other day that I had to begrudgingly fish out because I hate even touching live bugs, let alone eating them!

He is walking like a champ, which I have to say makes life a little easier for me.

He LOVES to be outside.  All day he points to go outside.

Really only says "Ball" and basically just points to everything else. I occasionally get a mama, but I don't have the same appeal as a ball apparently:)

He can clap if you say clap and he cheers for Joey when he does something good:)  He will also folds his hands when you say pray or when we say grace. He melts my heart!

He loves touch and feel books and actual sits there and lets me read them to him.

He hates: to be gated in the living room, getting his diaper changed, when he doesn't get his way;)

He loves to play with balls--basketball, baseball, football.  He likes to shoot hoops.  He loves to taunt his older brother--but the feeling is mutual in that respect:) But at the same time there is no one who can make the tedster laugh as hard as Joey can!

He's still a really great eater.  And just started drinking milk which he likes, thankfully.

I don't even dare say this because of his track record but--I think we are finally on a sleeping all night routine--{big ginorm KNOCK ON WOOD!!!} Our bedtime routine consists of: I nurse him, sing him You are my Sunshine and The Guardian Angel Prayer and then I say a few more prayers before I lay him down.  I assure you although my voice is horrendous, Teddy loves it:)

Some stats: size 5 diapers, 18-24 month clothes, size 4 shoe, at least 6 teeth that I can see, was about 21 lbs and 30 inches long at his one year appointment! That puts him at about the 40% in both.

He is just the sweetest happy little guy around and I couldn't love him more!!

Joey is 3

This kid is three.  I am trying to wrap my head around it.  I know it is the cliché of all the clichés, but where did the time go?? Didn't I JUST have him?? I just can't believe I have been a mom for three years.  But at the same time, I really can't remember life without him!

He has always been my easy, breezy little guy minus the fact that he is the pickiest eater known to man {like legit throws up if he doesn't like the taste or texture of something. so that's fun;)}

He is the sweetest, most polite, loving, absolutely hilarious little guy around.  And most recently--a little sassy.  That is 3, I suppose.

This was a big year for Joey.
He welcomed a new brother.  He loves Teddy and he is so good to him.  Except when he is not.  Like when Teddy is playing with ANY toy in the house.;)
He was the ring bearer in two weddings.  He fancy like that.
He had his first X-ray.  On his foot.  Was totally fine.

Fave things:
Food: Waffles, smoothies, chocolate chip cookies.
Drink: milk
Shows: Thomas, The Letter Factory, Daniel Tiger, Curious George
Movies: Toy Story, The Polar Express (may be THEEE favorite!), Cars, The Incredibles(or as he calls it the superhero movie)

Still loves any kind of vehicle--trains, trucks, cars.
Still has Woodsy--he's little stuffed bear.

Joey Jargon:
"I have a good idea...."
"Ohh, I see"
"What's anybody doing??"
Hey stinky butt Teddy"
Hiiii Teddy, did you have a good sleep, I'm so proud of you!"
When reprimanding Teddy--"Edward Paladino!"

He is talking up a blue streak! I've been trying, trying, to not down funny things to remember so you may be subjected to more Joey jargon real soon!

I sure do love this first born of mine! Although he really did ruin me as a parent with his easy breezinrss. I got a little cocky in the parenting department{thank goodness teddy took me down a notch;)}

I can't wait to see what the next year brings with this kiddo!

Lent

One of my Lenten goals has been to get to at least one daily Mass during the week.  The first week of Lent we didn't make it until Friday and we got stuck behind a school bus that stopped at almost every driveway along the road leading to Church.  So we were late.  Daily Mass at this particular church is in the very small Chapel and the only seats were in the smack dab front row.  As I made my way to the front, I silently prayed the boys would be on their best behavior.  We were already late, I didn't also want to make a ruckus interrupting everyone else's worship.. And although they weren't perfect by any means, they kept it together pretty well and I sincerely hoped we weren't a bother to those around us.  But when it was time to offer peace, it was only kind looks and genuine smiles surrounding and I breathed a sigh.  At the end of Mass the priest made a comment on how wonderful it was to see new young life at Mass.  And then when Mass had ended numerous people came up to me to inquire about the boys and tell me how happy they were to see us.  It made me realize that people are happy to see young children at Mass, they are after all the future of the Church.  But it also made me realize that I am giving my boys a gift too by showing them the importance of the Mass and faith and God.  And at the end of the day, if that is all I give them, I think I've done my job.

Life in pics

Well it's March.  It's only uphill from here in the weather department, right? Although February is the shortest month, it sure felt long!  Here's what we were up to as the snowiest month of the winter wrapped up.

A new indoor play area just opened and we went with some of our cousins!
Teddy taking a little cruise.  and yes his neurotic mother sanitized the heck out of that thing! BUT only because it was Friday during February vacation and it was a complete zoo.  So that means extra germs probably. Right?\

Joey loves his pal Sophia:)

This place was super cool.

My sweet Tedo:)

pig pile on dad!

Yum! I've been all about the cannoli lately! So delish. I'm super fancy with my

Hanging with this stud.  We've been watching Love it or List It, too lately!

Joey is sharing his pancakes with Woodsy.

I created a little book nook and it seemed to promote a new "appetite" for books;)
Headed out to pick up stuff for our big bday party coming soon! If you can't tell our theme is Toy Story:) We then headed to the Pizza Hut buffet to meet my brother, cousin & Grampy for lunch.  It was so nice to get out!

Boys being boys. I love these two! And yes I am that mom who dresses her kids alike. Not above it one bit;)

Tedster-10 monthish

At this point Teddy may be closer to 11 months than 10 so this recap is once again tardy because, second child.
I don't know of a child who has more nicknames--Teddy, Tedster, Tedo, Teddy Teddy two by four, Tedster McGee and as Joey so affectionately calls him--stinky butt teddy.
I have yet to have to use my stern "Edward John" discipline voice yet.  Because don't we all use the formal when being the strictest? Or is it just me?
I know it's coming though.  Teddy likes to get into mischief.

Teddy is such a sweet kid. Generally happy, smiley, albeit a bit mischievous in demeanor.
Cruising around everywhere, the kid cannot be stopped.  Crawling, pulling up and walking along tables, couches, drawers, his walkers--anything that provides him with support.  He's also a climber and would probably make it all the way up the stairs if I let him.

Will eat anything, food and non-food alike.
He is a big fan of my spinach lasagna.
Although he will eat purees, he is not a huge fan because he likes to feed himself.  Very independent that one.
Tries desperately to keep up with Joey and for the most part they get along splendidly. Mostly.

He likes all the things he can't play with, obviously.

He likes to don't bigs that make us laugh. He's quite the character.

Size 5 diapers and 12-18 month clothing.

Sleep is improving.  But let's just say it's a good thing he is cute;)

Is currently cutting his third tooth.  He seems to handle the teething like a champ.

Let's see, what else what else?  Oh he currently LOVES to give kisses.  It's so cute. the cutest.  But that's where his tricks end.  He is a one trick wonder so far.  Although he does play a mean peekaboo:)

He also says mama.  And he calls Andrew baba.:)

I love this little poochie face more and more everyday!

More food please!

Fresh buzz cut!

Brother love:)

Loving on dad:)

Up to no good;)

Eating his first donut hole.  He loved it, if you couldn't tell!

Showing off (insert heart eyes emoji)

What's saving me

I read this post today--what is saving your life--from the Modern Mrs. Darcy. As opposed to what is killing you. Because don't we sometimes tend to focus on the negative. I can honestly say I try not to! I like to think of myself as an eternal optimist so this post was right up my alley! You should check it out!

And here is a few things from my list of what is saving me!

-coffee. Always. Can I get an Amen?
-my sweet sweet shoveling husband. Or else we'd probs be buried alive.
-sweet moments with the boys. We've been doing daily singalongs and it cracks me right up. They are just so stinkin cute!
-getting lost in a good book. Just finished this one. Amazing! Love love loved it!
-this podcast--So great! I listen whilst cleaning and not only does it make cleaning more enjoyable it also is so inspiring. And funny!
-hot showers. Warms me right up when it's colder than a mother bear outside!
-getting in a workout  even if it's something as quick as this gem! Or maybe getting my butt kicked by Jillian.  It totally makes my day better and me a happier mom!

It's just the little things strung along together!

What's saving you??
